デニムジャケットの中でも、現在最も広く親しまれているデザインのひとつである、1960年代のTYPE 3 DENIM JACKETをモチーフにしたモデルです。

1950年代から1960年代にかけて、Leeなどのデニムジャケットが人気を集め、アメリカのデニムブランドがそれぞれのデザインを発展させていた時代に誕生したTYPE 3。それまでのTYPE 1、TYPE 2から大きく進化し、ワークウェアとしての実用的なデザインから、より洗練されたファッション性の高いシルエットへと変化しました。

TYPE 1の比較的平面的な構造に対し、1950年代に登場したTYPE 2の頃からは、身体の形に合わせた立体的なパターンが取り入れられるようになりました。1960年代に登場したTYPE 3では、その考え方がさらに発展し、より身体に沿った洗練されたシルエットへと進化していきました。

フロントのプリーツがなくなり、胸ポケットから裾に向かって伸びる特徴的なV字型の切り替えが採用されるなど、従来のデニムジャケットとは異なる新しいデザインが生まれました。

1960年代から1970年代にかけて、デニムジャケットは本来の作業着という枠を超え、ファッションアイテムとして広く認知されるようになりました。特に当時のミュージシャンやヒッピー、サーファーなど、自由なライフスタイルを象徴する人々に愛用され、アメリカのユースカルチャーを代表するアイテムのひとつとなりました。

素材には、1960年代のヴィンテージデニムを研究し、オリジナルのムラ糸を使用して織り上げたorSlow独自のデニムを採用しています。

当時のデニム特有の自然なムラ感や風合いを再現するため、糸の太さや不規則なムラの出方にこだわって開発した生地です。現代の均一なデニムとは異なる、自然な凹凸と奥行きのある表情が、1960年代のヴィンテージデニムを思わせます。

着用と洗濯を繰り返すことで、生地が徐々に柔らかくなり、自然な色落ちやアタリが現れます。 長く着込むほどに風合いが増し、ヴィンテージデニムのような経年変化を楽しむことができます。

カラーは、デニムワンウォッシュとデニムユーズドウォッシュの2色を展開しています。

Inspired by the Type 3 denim jacket introduced in the 1960s, this model recreates one of the most recognizable and iconic denim jacket designs of all time.

During the 1950s and 1960s, denim jackets from brands such as Lee gained widespread popularity, while American denim manufacturers continued to develop and refine their own distinctive designs. It was during this period that the Type 3 emerged, marking a significant evolution from the earlier Type 1 and Type 2 jackets.

While the Type 1 featured a relatively flat and simple construction, the Type 2, introduced in the 1950s, began incorporating more three-dimensional pattern cutting to better accommodate the shape of the body. This approach evolved further with the introduction of the Type 3 in the 1960s, resulting in a more refined, body-contoured silhouette.

The traditional front pleats were eliminated and replaced by distinctive V-shaped seams extending from the chest pockets toward the hem, creating a new design that would become one of the most recognizable styles in denim history.

During the 1960s and 1970s, denim jackets evolved beyond their original role as workwear and became widely accepted as fashion staples. Particularly popular among musicians, hippies, surfers, and others associated with the free-spirited youth culture of the era, the Type 3 became an iconic symbol of American casual style.

The fabric is orSlow's original denim, carefully developed through the study of authentic vintage denim from the 1960s and woven using specially developed slub yarns.

Special attention was given to recreating the natural irregularities and distinctive texture of denim from that period. The carefully selected yarn thickness and subtle slub variations create a naturally uneven surface with a rich vintage character, capturing the unique atmosphere of 1960s denim.

With repeated wear and washing, the denim gradually softens and develops natural fading and distinctive wear patterns reminiscent of authentic vintage denim. Over time, the jacket becomes more comfortable and develops its own unique character.
